Street Rod Gear Set

Choose from either of two high performance ratio gear sets for 1955-63 Chevrolet 3-speed transmissions. Gives your car smoother and longer acceleration throught the gears and takes advantage of any speed equipment on your engine. Either set will give much better acceleration than the stock gears.

We suggest "Medium ratio" for stock and mildly hopped-up engines and "Close ratio" for hopped-up engines or where you want to use second gear as a passing gear.

Set includes cluster, main drive, and second gear. Other gears are reused.

Medium ratio set: 2.47:1 first, 1.53:1 second

Transmission Synchronizer Rings Price
You can restore your old synchronizer assembly and save money. Press these new rings into your old synchronizer hub. Two rings are required

1937-54, all passenger and trucks with 3-speed transmission WT242-18 $29.50 each

Transmission Synchronizer Spacer Price
This special thickness spacer ring fits on the main drive gear before installing the ball bearing. This spaces back the main drive gear which tightens up the synchronizer rings and will make the transmission shift easier and keep it from jumping out of high gear. You won’t find this part listed in any other parts book. It’s just another one of those “special” items that we have found over the years.
